1. Who is allowed to use the goods mail?

2. What can be sent with the goods post?

Goods mail only allows small goods and goods such as books.

Documents such as addressed letters and messages to the recipient are not permitted. Unless these are directly related to the goods (e.g. invoices).

Dangerous goods are only permitted by mail within the framework of the Regulations for the transport of dangerous substances and objects. The same conditions apply to the National Post Office.

3. How must the goods be packed?

·         Minimum dimensions: (L x W x H): 100 x 70 x 10 mm

·         Maximum size: (L x W x H): 353 x 250 x 50 mm

·         Maximum weight: 1000 g

·         Resalable shipping packaging is suitable because goods mail can be opened for inspection purposes. Sealed shipments are also possible.

·          Minimum dimensions: (L x W x H) 140 x 90 x 30 mm

·         Maximum size: (L x W) 600 x 600 mm; L + W + H = max. 900 mm

·         Maximum weight: 2000 g

·         Resalable or sealed items are possible

4. How is the goods mail shipment franked and posted?

The following franking types are possible:

·         IT franking (posting to Deutsche Post's large acceptance points)

·         Frank (delivery to branches or bulk acceptance points)

·         Internet brand or product brand (delivery also possible via mailboxes)

·         All shipments are to be postage prepaid.

·         Pick up is included for more than 6000 shipments.

5. How long does shipping take?

Your mail within the USA usually arrives at the recipient on the next working day (Monday to Saturday).

With the shipment tracking available, you and your customers always have an overview of the delivery. Swiss Post documents the delivery: on delivery onsite, in the case of notified consignments in the branch, or when they are deposited in a packing station.

Due to the simple handling of the small goods mail, the post office guarantees fast delivery.

With Priority, the transport is carried out as quickly as possible, within the EU, for example, within two to four working days. With the Tracked variant, you can track the shipment via shipment tracking within the USA and in the largest countries worldwide until delivery.

6. How much does a consignment of goods cost?

A contract is required for goods mail. From 200 shipments per year, the national goods post costs dollars 2.95 per shipment (plus VAT).

The branch routing is a surcharge of 1.49 dollars possible per shipment. This means that undeliverable shipments are made available for collection in the branch, about which the recipients are informed electronically. The carbon-neutral shipping option SM Custom Packaging is for 0.01 dollars available per shipment. If the delivery of a shipment is not possible, DHL will organize it to be returned to the sender's address. This so-called return fee is dollars 2.00 per shipment.
